Workshop Overview
This
half-day workshop introduces the concept and application of
Emotional Intelligence to personal and professional development.
The workshop is highly informative and engaging with a series
of individual and group exercises and discussion, and includes
an understanding by each participant of their own personal
and confidential EQ- i ™ Development Report, their
Group EQ- i ™ Report and an ‘ideal’ professional
EQ- i ™ profile. The EQ- i ™ Development
Reports acts as both a guide and benchmark for each person
as they navigate and direct their EQ
Breakthrough™.
EQ
Defined
Emotional
Intelligence enhances the capacity and quality of reasoning,
makes better use of emotional energy, and creates stronger
fundamental relationships between people that are critical
success factors career and organizational breakthroughs.
EQ
is a measure or inventory of a person’s Emotional Intelligence.
Emotional Intelligence is the ability to be aware of, make
sense of, and make use of our emotional competencies to guide
our thinking and actions with others and ourselves.

Research
Dr.
Howard Gardner, a Harvard psychologist, identified multiple
intelligences in 1983. Dr. Reuven BarOn created and published
a scientifically and statistically valid measure of Emotional
Intelligence with the American Psychology Association in 1997.
Dr. Daniel Goleman, a Harvard psychologist, published two
best-selling books that popularized the notion of Emotional
Intelligence in 1995 and 1998. Dr. Michael Rock, a professional
educator, has created an array of online and onsite EQ development
programs for Breakthrough Development Group Inc.
